Following the publication of the first version of the Broadcast Wave Format (BWF) Extension which enable the storage of object-based audio and HOA audio, BBC R&D has now published example files and software to demonstrate the format. These can be used with the Soundscape Renderer as a playback engine. Another release is the new BRIR database which is released today as well.
After the ITU has approved the new recommendation for a advanced sound system in ITU-R BS. 2051 the EBU has now published a new meta data model call the Audio Definition Model. This will enable the well established broadcast WAV format to carry all the required metadata for object-based audio systems. Great news and well done to the colleagues at the EBU. The document can be found here.
